The Young Green Heron

This image was taken during the spring of 2020 in The Laguna Madre ecosystem. Many bird species use this area to give birth to their young each spring. This photo shows a young Green Heron as it is becoming an adult. During this process the heron will lose its hatchling feathers and grow into its new adult feathers.
